Story:

The entire journey of Savitri from breath to death.

Analysis:

Though many concerned about slow pace narration & length, actually it’s all required for any biopic to put the screenplay on track & to get the right emotion.

About cast, the one and only Keerthy Suresh, she was the backbone of the film, and she completely owned the Savitri’srole and portrayed her character with an ease. Infact we couldn’t even think about any other actress in this role. So far we were in an impression that only Anushka, Nayanatara would be capable of doing matured performance, but with this movie the entire South Industry would embrace Keerthy Suresh as a top most actress in South.

Dulquer Salman did good job as the jealous/egoist husband. Samantha & Vijay got decent roles and did justice. Rest of them Mohanbabu, Shalini Pandey, Krish, Srinivas Avasarala, Prakash Raj make their presence felt with petite roles.

About crew, the Director was brilliant in bringing the 1960’s feel and kept the people engaged. Production values were adequate, in few places they compromised by reliant on CG instead of erected sets. Cinematography captured the great mood, and took her back by 40yrs. Music & bgscore were decent and suited for the movie. Art department did great job, one of an example Madras Central station was erected very lively.

It’s is not just a movie, it’s moreover lifestyle “Savitri’scharacter & what she was for her people“

An open question/mystery:

Nothing was shown about whether our Telugu film actors did help her or not?

Highlights:

Keethy Suresh’s award winning performance. No wonder, she would get National award..!!

Story, Screenplay & Direction.

Top notch production values.

Cinematography, Art

Music, bgscore were soothing.

Would have been better:

A sudden rush/inconsistency when heading towards Savitriending days.

Bottom Line:

Great Tribute to Mahanati Savitri, and this flick will leave in your heart forever.
